The Aphex 204 is mostly used for live mixing and recording.. Im wondering if it is suitable to use it as a bass overdrive or it's a waste of it ....

The 204 is a great and wonderful thing to have. It makes everything bigger. It does not add compression or distortion of any kind.

I use it for more sustain and much better low end. It adds a great amount of punch to my sound. I thought it compressed when i bought it but it doesn't-- just more sustain. But that's okay, i'm still happy with the awesome sound it gives me

the device is awesome no doubt about it
but i don't know where people get ideas of it doing some strange things it wasn't meant to do and it doesn't do it even if you want to force it

Thanks for all the replies .. well i thought it has some sort of overdrive in it when i saw the drive knob on it .. anyway... so is there any good single channel rack mount bass overdrive with EQs on?? the tech21 sansamp is kind of too expansive... and i dont need an extra preamp for my Eden WT550 is good enough already...i think !!!

O well.. then any good kinds of Overdrive pedals besides BOSS ODB-3??? I don't trust that think no more.. I had one and there was some kind of shorted circuit which causes some kind of feedback and smoked my cabinet.. haha

forget boss... a good cheap od is DOD 250! I loved that thing, sold it only because I use overdrive on my amp when I want it. I bet that with some effort, any pedal could be fit into a rack! I was actually considering mounting a DOD circuit into my bass!! I may even do it one day
