I am debating with myself whether or not to purchase an Aphex 204 with my next rig when I (supposedly) go on tour and record in May-August of next year with a young jazz band.

This is a thread for everyone who owns or often uses an Aphex 204. Post your stories, settings, anything you want about it! Convince me why I should or should not consider including it in my future rack.

Thanks in advance,

-Sean

P.S. - I have done my searches and found some info, I just want to try to consolidate that and any I may have missed into this thread.

Anyway, I've used the Aphex 204 for both vocals and bass. It can fill out your sound with judicious application of restraint ... a little goes a long way. Don't overdo it.

Also, soundclip comparisons would be more than welcome.

Did you try to complicate your simplicity, or simplify your complexity?

the 204 is a great tool!!! but i rarely use it on my bass... i use it on other stuff... and its great for mastering and processing stuff... it works wonders on drum tracks if you know what you are doing...

Bumping an ancient thread to solicit others' settings.

I have one in one of my racks and I'm interested in seeing how others have theirs dialed in.
