Aphex Bass Xciter causing distortion?

Help!...everytime that I use my bass xciter (which I love, btw), I hear some distortion when I play my B string. Any suggestions??..sorry if its been covered in another thread..did a quick search and couldnt find anything..

Yup, means your signal is too hot going into the unit. Yer B string will have much more output than your other strings, which means you'll need to dial out bass blend until the distortion goes away. Or, if it's an active bass try either turning the volume down on the bass or turning on the buffer switch on the Aphex unit.

IMHO, the Xciter plays well with 4-strings but a low B has so much bass to begin with that the Aphex is pretty useless.

I had the same problem with mine, hit the active pad between the input and output jacks

I got distortion using my 4 string passive p-bass (although it was fitted with a quarter pounder pickup). The active switch is useless, it just knocks like 12dB from your volume. I sold mine becuase of this!
