The very best way to acquire intel is to read the descriptions provided by the manufacturer. Doing so, you will learn that these pedals do different things. So you'd pick the one that does the function that you need. The next thing to do is to read threads that have already been written about them. That way you get a lot of opinions and questions answered right away, rather than posting a new thread and hoping for helpful responses to trickle in. After all that, then post a thread with more specific questions. For example, you could say "I know the Aphex is supposed to improve my tone in this one way, and the Xotic in this other way, but which way works best for you?" Better yet, add "I play in X style of music, using Y bass and Z amp/cab, do any of you have experience using either of these pedals in a similar style with a similar rig?" Good luck! |

I intentionally decided to keep this thread somewhat open ended, so that I can read as much input as possible. Past experiences, preferred configurations, and setups are all welcome. The good, the bad, and the ugly is what I wanna' see. |

There is absolutely no way we can provide you with useful information without knowing the rest of your rig and style(s) you are playing, and many of us are bummed by having to repeat ourselves, and won't respond to everyone who just wants to be spoon-fed. |

First things first if you feel this thread is a waste of time please make your comments in pm form. Having viewed the response which immediately followed yours its very indicative that you do not represent the entire TB community by answering my thread as if you were the sole voice of TB(hence your use of the word "we"). To answer your question regarding gear, I have an eden preamp and a qsc rmx 2450. Please, if you have any info provide it. If not please let the moderator do his/her job, not you. |

If you want a clean boost, then I'm sure the RC Boost is a great pedal (even though there are a number of other clean boosts). I did look at the Exciter description and I'm not really sure what it is, but it is supposed to give deep tone & sustain and add life.
I think you may prefer a chorus pedal to either ...
