| Aphex pedals - dodgy footswitch problems

One of my Aphex Punch Factory pedals has developed the footswitch problem that afflicts Aphex pedals (so I believe, according to Google) - a noisy click when engaging the footswitch. This pedal is well out of warranty, so I'm wondering if anyone else who has encountered the dodgy footswitch issue with Aphex pedals has done a DIY replacement of the footswitch, using a suitable generic footswitch from an electronics store?
I figure this might be a quick fix rather than paying $50 in postage to send my pedal to the US, as well as paying Aphex to do the repair.
Thoughts?
