Arger Capricorn+ Bass Fuzz In Progress PEDAL COMPLETE

Sign in to disble this ad
I should be getting my Capricorn+ in 2-3 weeks.

PEDAL IS COMPLETE. NEW PHOTOS BELOW.

Here are a few in-progress shots. I had Arjan move the DC jack to the top in order to conserve space, which required the LED light to be lowered slightly
(and a few other adjustments with the electronics )

I'll be posting more once I receive them (and soundclips)

The enclosure is currently being custom airbrushed with my design, more photos to follow soon.

I've been interested in this circuit. What airbrush design are you going for?

It's gonna be the same design as what you see on the website, I'm just adding "excane" and a pentagram (I love cheesiness) that I put together in photoshop.

Gimme a few, I'll put up a pic.

Capricorn = Mammoth?

So this is a Mammoth clone?

From the Arger site:

"The harmonic structure of your sound can be radically altered using the "FEEL" knob. It adjusts the pulse width of the waveform. In the leftmost position, the waveshape is quite symmetrical which produces a smooth creamy sound. Turning it up slightly introduces lovely intermodulation distortion. Turning it clockwise narrows the waveshape into asymmetrical pulses, making the tone reedier and brassier. This also introduces an unusually smooth 'gating' action, which gives you an absolutely eerie silence between notes."

From the Zvex website:

"In the leftmost position, the waveshape is quite symmetrical which produces a smooth creamy sound. Turning it up slightly introduces lovely intermodulation distortion. Turning it clockwise narrows the waveshape into asymmetrical pulses, making the tone reedier and brassier. This also introduces an unusually smooth 'gating' action, which gives you an absolutely eerie silence between notes."

Hm, that's sort of lazy on their part.

Pretty much a clone with a blend from what I gather.

Essentially, yes....at half the price.

The sound from the capricorn is a sound I had been hearing in my head for a long time.

Thanks

Yes, I've been promising several people clips of various pedals for a long time....I will definitely make it a priority once I get this.

You can never have enough satanic goats on a pedal....especially on one named "capricorn"

New Photos. Arjan just sent these to me. Keep in mind there is no lacquer or sparkles on the pedal yet, so it's lacking some depth. Pretty kick ass.

The base price is around $210 US dollars depending on the current exchange rate. The price goes up from there depending on the airbrush design you want and how complex it is.

They can be purchased from www.argerfx.com
