Arrow Art Class Pedalboard!

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm taking IB Art this year and next year and my theme is music but more specifically my music. So instead of buying a pedal board I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make one in art class.

And then I put the nails in, removed the thin supports, stepped on it a couple times and draped the fur over it...(not necessarily in that order)

Stapled the fur, painted the inside and added the pedals w/velcro...

Redid the chain and voila:

I have room for maybe another pedal and a chromatic tuner.

Actually I think he linked to a secure address. My 'view selection source' skillz showed me an 'https' as the start of the link.

You've got some gumption, and that's good. Nice work. But the wood looks a little thin, make sure it'll hod up to some heavy stomping. I noticed the tall sides on it, are you also making a top for it?

If you want to take it the next few levels, check out Mr. Majestic's board for inspiration.

I'm not making a top for it. I designed it in a way such that the sides of the pedals are protected. I've also stomped on it with and without nails and pedals and its sturdy.

and where can I find this Mr. Majestic's board?

Oh, I remember seeing this board. When I need a bigger board I'll get one thats already made or use a briefcase or something.

I was expecting to see something artistic, but I saw something utilitarian instead.

I dig it. It's a bazillion times more crafty than the one I did.

i don't think he's trying to be mean. you did ask for comments. honestly, playing out...... that kinda looks like a nightmare. i'd step on the wings and destroy it within ten minutes. 'specially without a top for it, functionality..... seems...... suspect.

visually, it's not that it's bad, but it doesn't really bring anything interesting to the design.

just IMO and all that.

Yeah....for instance, when my band plays, we have a chalk artist who does a bunch of groovey stuff while we're jamming....when I built my pedal board she offered to do some crazy awesome art all over it. After I added the velcro and pedals....well...there's pretty much no place to paint anywheres.

Long story still quite long, I assumed from the title that you built a pedal board and then put some bad ass tapestries all over it.

Here's a vid of her doing her thing, btw....shameless plug.

I've stomped on it with/without pedals and nails and it holds up nice. And I built it more for art class than playing but play with it when the IB examiner comes in 2013.

I appreciate that you elaborated you opinion.
