ART Nightbass SGX rack processor?

Sign in to disble this ad
There's one for sale on my local Craigslist, for $69.

Anyone have any experience with one of these units? I'm a cord straight into the amp kind of guy, but I'm tempted at that price, especially if there's a half-decent compressor. From what I've read online, the compressor, preamp, EQ and so forth are all analog. The delays, reverbs, flanger, ect are of course digital.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

i used to have one years ago ... it was great at that time (if i remember correct it had an tube preamp or distortion?), but then sold it some years later. i would buy it again for that price you mentioned ... buy it -> try it, then sell or keep it.

I also wanted one in '93. For that price, give it a go, I would!

I owned and used one in the period 1993-1998.

As a pure preamp, it sucks.
As a multieffector it can do "something", but i believe it's largely outdated, nowadays.

Get it! For that price, it'll only be outmoded for a while. Then it'll enter vintage status and be somewhat sought after – if you're lucky some rock star will use it and then badda boom badda bing, you've just quadrillioned your investment. It could be the next Bass Whammy, or tall font Russian Big Muff or...

... something you tried for very low price-of-admission ticket.
