Had some dry humor misunderstandings but clearified. This post was deleted.
Thanks

Usually, smaller boutique builders are incredibly kind and will go out of their way to help...because they know how viral AND vital word of mouth is. I for one love my B:Assmaster...but I got mine used off Ebay (insert smuggest smiley face). |

However, what does this say about future service? If I have a problem, this is how I will be approached? I mean, common....seriously what is going on in someone's head to be that way? That I need you?...... isn't it the other way around? haha
Tho I'm really wanting to get a brassmaster clone, I may just hold the cash for Ry on the GS+ Quote:

| | | | that's weird.
I spoke to one of the guys at malekko when I bought that pedal... actually nagged them quite a bit ...and they were cool.
Maybe he was having a bad day, but still, it's really no excuse |

| | | | had the same thing happen with warmoth three years ago. had a question about a jazz neck and the person on the other end acted like he had better things to do than talk to me. so bought an allparts neck instead. |

I don't know who you spoke to, but I had exactly the opposite experience when I met Mr. Malekko (Josh Holley) at NAMM a few years back. Not only was he warm and friendly, but he also gave me, a complete stranger and an obvious "non-vip", a comprehensive live demo of all of his new-at-the-time Omicron pedals - me on bass, him on knobs. He took more time out than he needed to with me, and I was really impressed. Paul (Barker...you know....Ministry) was there too, and he was also really nice (the three of us took a picture together). To top it off, he gave me one of their deliciously suggestive "Mmmm....Malekko!" tshirts.
Josh strikes me as someone with a dry sense of humor, so I'm gonna chalk it up to that plus a bit of sarcasm...he was probably expecting a technical question of some kind.
When I had a slight noise problem with my 600D, I emailed Josh, he seemed to remember me, and he helped me immediately, so again, I don't know... |

| | | | I can only comment on my experience with Taylor from Iron Ether, the maker of the Oxide.
He certainly cares about customers, old and new.
I've never owned a Malekko pedal, so have no experience of their customer support.
Also, just 'cos the guy was a knobhead on the phone to you doesn't mean the pedal is no longer relevant to your fuzz needs.
However, I can understand you not wanting to finance somebody who was rude to you.
You could always buy a B:Assmaster second hand, or just get the Oxide (my personal recommendation) and be done with it. |

I would love to have the B:Assmaster just for the hilarious name and pink triangle, but can't justify the price when I already have a pedal that does the Brassmaster thing quite well. As for buying used, B:Assmasters seem to sell for more on eBay than they do new from Malekko...go figure.

Josh is sometimes known to have a very "absurdist" sense of humor, but he definitely doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

That said, I like the Black Cat better - it had much more manageable output levels and more useable tones all around.
I suspect I might like the Oxide best, but haven't tried one. |

You really needed to call the builder personally, to ask him which state your pedal ships from? Really...? You need the pedal for an emergency, and the 7 day ship time (versus 5 days) is going to make a big difference to you? Who did you talk to at the company? A secretary? Shipping Department? You talked to the owner/operator and you assume he's got nothing better to do (like building and shipping pedals) than to answer dumb questions? You can buy a B:assmaster from dozens of suppliers - find one that ships overnight, if that's so incredibly important to you. Get a tracking #, if you need an "ETA"
IMO, you acted silly, and now you're compounding the problem by coming here to bash the company because they didn't indulge your admittedly "anal retentive" compulsion.
This thread sucks.
