Nice trick! Years ago I did something similar. I bought some very thin sheet metal (roof flashing, I think) and cut small tabs out of it with metal shears. It was difficult, time consuming and I cut the crap out of myself numerous times. The end result wasn't pretty (they were all different shapes, LOL!) but they worked.

Your solution is very elegant.

Nice tip but far too permanent for me.

Industrial Velcro's my preference.

that's a VERY neat, elegant solution!

if i could trick myself into thinking my board would stay static more then a month i might try it.

good stuff for the right setup.

Remember, we're talking the "industrial strength" velcro. Not the wimpy () regular stuff.
Use a big enough piece (like 70% of the pedal's bottom area) and your stuff ain't going nowhere very easily.

Also, for those of you using the Industrial Strength velcro and having troubles getting your pedals to release from your board without damaging or ripping up the felt:
Take a butter knife (or something similar) and basically slice your pedal (getting the knife between the velcro and the felt) off the board surface. Works like a charm.

I started out with heavy duty velcro, but found out after a 4-hour gig on a hot outdoor stage that, despite the velcro-to-velcro connections gripping tenaciously, the adhesive got so hot and sticky that it lost its grip.

I had a bunch of these and used 'em to secure my pedals. So far, no problems:

Wimpy, what material is that that you're mounting all of these pedals to? Some kind of rubber mat?

If I ever came up with a pedal setup that would last me longer than a few weeks I'd definitely go for this.

Been using the chain link for years, way better than velcro. Because even the best stuff the adhesive breaks down and gets very sticky.

Chain is where its at. Takes less than a minute to chg a pedal.

That is Pertinax/Kartit (covered with artificial leather) ...same thinner material is useing also for printed circuits. I think you can use some other material if you don't find pertinax...plywood etc.

they have it here but in czech only sorry:
