Attack speed question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, what would be the absolute slowest attack speed possible that can still catch the transient spike? I'm looking at an Aguilar TLC and the fastest attack speed is 10m/s. I was just wondering if this will catch the spike, and in general what the slowest attack speed possible to catch the spike is? Thanks

Wouldn't it vary from amp to amp? I don't know about the amp you're looking at...only thing I can say is just go try different speeds for yourself on it and see what you get.

I don't want to spend money on it first, because the only place I can get it is over the net. I'm just looking for some general specifications. (Not of the Aggie, of attack speeds.)

AFAIK 10ms will catch an attack spike easily, what would be the point of an onboard compressor that didn't?

Most studio compressors I've seen only go down to 10ms (or sometimes 20). A couple go down to 5, 2, or 1, but I've never seen those speeds used.
