I tried not to ramble too much, but bear with me.
Standard EHX Micro enclosure, true-bypass, standard boss-style 9v center-negative power, 3 knobs
Gain knob - self explanatory. Note that increased gain will give you a significant volume boost in addition to the increase in dirt.
Bias knob - I'm not an electronics expert, so its tough for me to explain what exactly this does. According to the EHX demo on youtube, this allows you to determine how much of the signal goes to ground (counter-clockwise) versus the battery rail (clockwise).
Volts knob - This is a power starve. At minimum, the circuit only gets 3 volts, and at maximum, it gets the full 9 volts.
I am using a Carvin B5 active bass, then to the Germanium OD, then Devi Ever Aenima (which is only used at the very end), then a Boss LMB-3, then to my amp (Peavey Mark VI) + cabs (1x15, 2X10). Then its miked with a crappy computer mic.
