Thumbs up Axe-FX Ultra in the house - sounds fantastic for bass!

I received an Axe-FX Ultra 10 days ago and I've logged a lot of time with it since, mostly with a guitar. I am in awe - no other way to describe it. I also have an EV ELX112P powered loudspeaker/monitor to amplify it full range and flat response. This rig is very likely to replace my amps (Mesa Mark V combo and Egnater Tweaker combo) altogether. I can say with certainty that I have mic'd my last guitar cabinet for recording. The Axe-FX is a dream come true for recording guitar.

I was so drawn in tweaking the Axe-FX building different rigs and playing, playing, playing that it took me 8 days to get around to plugging a bass into it. When I did I found a couple of really great sounds. First - the tube preamp. The tube preamp sounds fantastic for recording direct! Next - the SVT model. I can't say whether it sounds just like a SVT (as I do not have one) but it does sound great recorded, and there's a lot of flexibility with the many parameters and IR's (internal and user IR's).

I haven't done any more with bass and the Axe-FX at this point but I do hear great potential.

The Axe-FX Ultra is a really amazing piece of gear. It really does disprove nearly all of the negatives people connote with multi-effects.
