Axon vs GR 20 vs GR 33 ? Any input ?

I've seen some trouble reports on the Godin SA and Axon 50 combination.

I found the GR-20 to be kind of uninteresting when I tried it with guitar. The lack of programmability is the killer. the on board ROMPLER sounds are convincing but synth tweakability is completly lacking ...

So GR-33 ? Anybody using one with a bass ?

My old teacher is a huge Axon enthusiast, I think he even does clinics for them. The thing with the Axon is you have to be dead on accurate, or it won't work for you. Kind of like a fretless.
