Question B:assmaster vs PE Depth Charge

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone tried both of these or maybe even compared them to a real Brassmaster?

I've only played the PE Depth Charge (I would like to try a B:assmaster). My concerns with the Depth Charge mostly revolved around having a cab with a tweeter, because it shrieked like a raging cage of bubblebees. Sounded really good on my tweeterless rig.

I've only tried the B:assmaster, so I can't help much in the comparison. I thought I heard that Paul, I think that's his name, from Malekko compared the B:assmaster to other Brassmasters in order to get as close to an authentic sound as possible.

From what I've read so far I think the B:assmaster is worth a shot. If it isn't what everyone says it is I'll just sell it. I don't think thats the case but I am wondering why a couple people on this forum sold theirs. If it really does sound like a Brassmaster than I am friggin excited to try it.

Hey Malekko man, what's your honest opinion of the Depth Charge?

i think you'll have to wait a little longer, mang. Malekko doesn't seem to be online at the moment. (see that green dot next to your name? that means you're online. when it's gray, you're offline.)

I just switched my settings and I couldn't figure how to subscribe to this thread so I just put in another reply which automatically subscribes me and since I don't have anything new to say I just put in a question mark.

I havent A/B the B:ASSMASTER to the Depth Charge.
I HAVE A/B with about 6 Brassmasters though, if you want that tone and dont have a spare grand for a real one, it is a great alternative. We are (slowly) putting clips up on our website

and

there will be more soon, my business partner, Paul Barker, just moved back to Texas from L.A., and i've got him chained to a bass!

Hey I'm already sold on the B:assmaster, I was just curious. As soon as I have the cash I'm getting the Germanium one.

Wait... Paul Barker's name is associated with this pedal? Sign me up!

Paul Barker was one of the main inspirations for me to pick up a bass. I think I owe it to myself to scoop up this pedal.

What do you think the "B" in "B:Assmaster" stands for?
