A/B Box for two channel ampeg

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi!

I'm using my Ovation Typhoon through an Ampeg V4B.

I'm only using channel one and was wondering if i can split the signal from the bass to feed both channels and use a pedal to switch between the two.

Maybe control one chanel with an eq.

Could you recomend a good pedal for doing this?

Thx!!!

The Morley AB box is good - its true bypass and passive meaning the only thing the 9v power is for is to run the LEDs. And its quiet. It also doesn't care what direction you run it in, meaning you can run it as an "either or" control for 2 basses running into one amp, or you can run it as "either, or, or BOTH" from 1 bass to 2 amps (or 2 channels on one amp). See: Morley Pedals - ABY Switching/Routing

You going to run one channel clean and one channel with effects?

I use a Morley ABY box into my SVT-VR for Channel-Switching. Works perfectly fine. Being an ABY box means you can run both channels at the same time (like jumping channels).

Currently I'm using it as a channel switcher, but I'm considering using one channel with overdrive and the other clean and fat. It definitely allows for more experimentation.

Hey.. thx for your feedback

I think i'll use the effects before the a/b box and an eq after it, going to just one channel. That way, i can't have two channels and be able to control the sound with the eq so its sounds different

if you're going to use an eq pedal like the boss geb-7 you don’t need to switch channels you can just turn it on and off.
