A/B Help!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have built an ab switch, but it doesn't seem to do it's job. When I connect the cable from the pedals, on either output of the pedal, it works. But when I plug the other cable which goes straight to the amp, the pedals line still works, but the pedals become useless and the line that goes straight to the amp doesn't work. The way I have the two cables that go to the amp is that they are connected by a y cable then the one end goes into the amp

More info...
A = Bass to Amp
B = Bass to Pedals to Amp

at the end, the two lines are connected to a Y cable.

When I use one or the other, it works, either channel A or B, and on either side.

When I use both, the one plugged in second won't work.

When both plugged in, and A was first, the pedals don't do anything when they should.

The tuner works at all times. The tuner is the last pedal in the chain.

I'm thinking the Y cable is the problem, but idk how to fix it, or what exactly the problem is

My first guess is that you swapped a ground wire with a signal wire somewhere.

I thought so too, checked all the jacks and cables and it's all good.

Can you post a diagram showing how the switch and wiring are all hooked up?
