A/B switch Q

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone ever experimented with using an A/B switch to put 2 inputs into 1 output?

I messed with this briefly the other day with a small practice amp, bass and guitar. However, I'm not entirely certain it's a good idea or feasible at louder volumes and spaces.

Also concerned about how to not worry about the possibility (unless intended, if possible) about running both lines at one time. Could this overload an amp or cab? Cause some signal problems?

Thanks!

If I understand what you're saying, then yes, I run an EHX switch blade at the end of my chain. I plug first into my whammy, direct out straight to the switch blade and the effect out to the rest of my board. This way I can go from straight clean signal to as many effects on at one time. Very useful live.

Well, I'm thinking of running one line with a few guitar effects and a guitar and another line of bass effects and a bass and sending them all into my one amp.

I'd use the switch to choose with instrument I wanted to play.

Just worried about unneeded noise and possible signal interference.
