I don't know what's wrong with me. I keep downsizing everything. I was using 10 pedals a month ago. Now 4! But I've got 2 more coming. I'm returning my Octave Multiplexer and selling my DD-3 (NO THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD, DON'T CLOSE IT). I haven't had a board this simple since like October of last year. I just don't need delay, octave, boost or extra fuzz. I'm really liking my simple setup. I mean, there's only like 5 good sounds I can make. I might give octave down fuzz a try again sometime later.

Mang, I WANT to downsize from my 10 pedals but there is no pedal I can think about going without! I see these small tidy boards and I want one, but there's nothing I want to sacrifice, I want to have the options all available to me.

I'm sad about downsizing. But for no reason. I didn't use delay ... gone. I only used octave for fun with fuzz ... gone (for now). Boost just sat there ... gone. Having a small board sucks ... really it does. I mean I can use my wah, OD, and flanger separately. OK so that's 3 cool sounds. And I can combine my dirt and flanger for another cool sounds. So I have a total of 4 cool sounds I can make with my board. But I really don't need all the other crap I had.

nice board. mine is usually similar since my main sounds are from dirt, flanger and wah as well, with a compressor that is always on. (105Q, Opto Stomp, BDDI, MXR M80, DOD FX72B Flanger) everything else seems to come and go every couple months, but those pedals have never left my board.

I too have drastically downsized from a PT pro to a jr. 16 pedals to 7. I lovew my new lightweight setup though and I still have lots of cool effects, just not different flavors of the same effect.

You may be in a good comfort zone until you change genres in your music.

Or you may be a blender, a ring mod, a fuzz (get the biohazard working!!! ), and a noise box away from a whole new world.

Hard to tell.

Out of curiosity, did you kill the OM because of the volume drop or did you just not like the tone of the pedal?

PS I dont have a ring mod or a noise box (hard to work into jazz/blues and I'm cheap), but they do open new doors. Whether those doors should be opened is another question.

Because of the volume drop and the glitchyness. Love the tone though.

Yeah, if I expand I'm going to try and get all different kinds of pedals. Can't be small and lightweight and repetitive.

I've been downsizing. I'm down to 5 (1 is a tuner)

Nothing wrong with downsizing.

But I'm becoming increasingly tempted by delay pedals... and I'm out of room on my board.

As weird as it is, the pedal I use most is my boost pedal. When I have a momentary lapse of reason and divide amount of use by effort of hauling pedal board (AofU/EofHPB where x is unknown) and think that maybe I don't need to cart this thing around........the one thing I would continue to use is my boost.

I could throw the boost back on.

IMO, the ideal board is one that give you all the sounds you need and none you don't. If that means one pedal or 50, so be it. At the moment, ideal for me is 5 (including a tuner).

Haha. It's just so limited right now. Boost wont take up any room, I put it on top of the DC Brick. MXR phaser is small too.

Does selling a BMS and buying the XO model count as downsizing?

I think that counts more than the OP's does!
