Just because I could...

It sounds fantastic with my dual-humbucker short-scale. The Linden preamps for that Jersey sound, the Dirty Bomb gives the higher gain sounds, the Trifecta dredges up the depths of the bass, the Launch Pad cleanly boosts it all.

Do tell about the Trifecta, please.

I think I need to consider one of the low gain Barber pedals for inclusion. I will have to look to see which of the LTD and Direct Drive, or 1/2 Gainer is bass-friendliest.

The Trifecta
Barber Electronics

Something about a Tri pi sound. What I do know is that the low end is preserved VERY well. The lack of a "clean blend" pedal that many want in a bass fuzz isn't missed, at least for my need.

The Dirty Bomb will need some tweaking of the internal settings, it is almost there.

Any word on the tonebender sounds on the Trifecta - I can get a muff clone from anyone on talkbass (pretty much) but i LOVE that Barber put a couple of tonebenders in there too - any good for bass?

In my hands, at the speed of 1-5, 1-5, 1-5, 1-5 at your average bluegrass tempo.

To be honest, I have no experience with Tonebenders, thus I cannot answer that.

I pondered adding the Tone Press, but I am waiting for a used price to reach $100 or less. I was wondering how the LTD handles a bass. Which version are you running?

Over the Christmas plant shutdown, I need to figure out how shoe horn these pedals and my two FEA pedals into my existing pedal case. I am thinking the FEA Growler can service as my "low gain" pedal drive, it has a nice growl sound with distorting.

That's the LTD Silver which has a slight mid bump and falls between the original and the special recipe. Nice low gain OD, but it sounds a little "ganky" to my ears which was remedied by the Linden. Internal trimpots can fix that as well. The Linden is the best low boost EVER IMHO. So tight and focused below 100hz, that it's simply amazing to my ears.

Barber is a stellar outfit and their prices are rediculous for the quality.

I didn't notice any loss of low end on the LTD, but it's strength is pushing the mids forward.

The Growler would work as your low gain dirt (that's what I used it for as well when I owned it) even though it's capable of so much more...

The Tone Press works well on bass, but I generally don't use/need/like compression, so I sold it a long time ago.

The Trifecta is an amazing pedal on bass. The Muff is very good and will sound better or as good as any good Muffs.
The Tonebender version is also amazing. Very well done.
considering this pedal is only $149 it delivers an amazing amount of tone and tonal flexibility. Look for the Version 2 of this pedal, it has the reputation of having more bass than version one.

Overall I have been impressed by Barber, they are a low key pedal builder but their pedals speak for themselves, they don't need any of the marketing hoopla.

Well, now I'm all out excuses for not trying one.

Thanks.

I found the DB for $70, the Trifecta for $90. The used deals are out there.

What's the difference between the LTD and the LTD SR? I first heard of any sort of LTD as a recommendation to fulfill how most people use the Pork Loin, but without what this particular TBer (can't remember who) called the "over-tweakability" some might find in the PL. This appeals to me.
