Barber LTD Silver - DIY Schematic

Sign in to disble this ad
I just found this on the Barber site, a schematic for the LTD Silver:

http://www.barberelectronics.com/Bar...onics_DIY.html

Has anyone ever built it? I'm interested in giving it a go, especially if it can be squeezed into a tiny enclosure. I assume all the diodes are 1N4148's, although the first resistor down by the power supply is labelled 91 (9.1k?), and there are no details on which op-amps to use. Anyone able to help on those last 2 points?

You could use a 1N4001 diode for the power section. It's a not a major factor which diode as long as it has a 0.7V turn-on voltage. That's 91 ohms, not 9.1k or 91k ohms. That's a voltage for the power supply so a huge resistor would make it not work properly.

I've seen some over on DIY stomp that people have made these circuits into really tiny enclosures.

Cheers, I'll go check it out, haven't been there for a while. It's a simple circuit, so if it'll fit into a 1590A (Catalinbread mini size) then I'll be well chuffed.

Would be even smaller if they used surface mounted components.

I've often thought that. Lovepedal got a pretty bad reception when they started using SMD components in the Eternity, tho.

Well there probably is bound be that kind of reaction if there is a switch. There plenty of great analog and digital effects using SMDs, like the Carbon Copy.

The size of the bantam boxes is cool but they aren't very practical, they simply not heavy enough to keep themselves stable.
