Bare Concepts VFB-2 volume issue

Sign in to disble this ad
the blend knob on my VFB-2 is acting strangely. when i turn it all the way to the right [ 100% ] it cuts the volume down to an almost inaudible signal.

to boost my signal back i have a guyatone BL-2 with the volume knob maxed and a chrome morley power wah set to the toe down position as it functions as a huge volume boost with the fuzz and wah disengaged. both are in the loop of the barge. i can barely hear anything unless i have both pedals boosted this way. the more i turn the knob to the left, the more i hear my clean signal, to full volume when set completely counter clockwise.

my pedalboard in order:

stingray 4 [fresh battery ] >

korg tuner
input on the VFB-2
SEND >

ISP decimator
guyatone BL2
EHX bass micro synth
boss PS5
boss PS3
boss ODB3
watson superfuzz
chrome morley PWF
EHX small stone>

RECEIVE on VFB2

output >

akai headrush >

powered by one spot. BMS, headrush, wah, bl-2 powered by separate adapters.

rocktron hush rack unit [ set to allow plenty of signal through ]>
svt classic > 810 + 215

my pedals sound fine and loud one their own, but not with the VFB-2. going to email barge as well.

can anyone shed some light?

That's what my vfb-2 (and subsequent vb-jr) did, but only when I had nothing plugged into the send jack. I was splitting my signal ahead in the path, then tried to reunite them in the blender. The same thing you described happened.

However, that is simply because I was not using it as intended.

As for you..I don't know.

I had a vfb-2, and now have a vb-jr. Never experienced that problem before. I'd suggest emailing Geoff and the Barge Concepts crew and see what they say.
