Is the Barge GLZ-1 a bypass loop as well?

I'm under the impression somehow that it is. And it makes sense that it would be one, having gain and volume pots. I sent them an email, but that seems to be touch and go.

Thanks!

Nope. You plug into it, and when it's "Off" it's bypassed, and when it's "On" you use Level to attenuate your signal, Gain to use it like a Boost, and Z to adjust impedance on the output, so you can tune it to be used better with fuzz pedals. Also, for more Barge info, search!

The GLZ only has one input and one output. Since a bypass loop pedal by definition requires a minimum of 4 jacks (or a very exotic double-stereo setup), no, the GLZ is not a bypass looper. Think of it as a boost/volume pedal with goodies.

Question

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but will adjusting the "Z" control change the clean tone of your bass, with your onboard preamp set flat?

I'm thinking of getting one of these to tame my TonePump preamp, but since I split my signal into 2 paths (effects and grit), I'm wondering if I'd need to place it before the split so both paths keep the same tone. It's a bit of a cheaper option, than switching my onboard.
