Barge RC 3 problem??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there guys I recently purchased a Barge RC3, and it works really well. My problem is when I crank the SUSTAIN knob, which is supposedly the gain, pass about 10o'clock, it adds significant buzz/distortion. Is this normal? I've previously had a Diamond and a Toadworks compressor, none such problems.

My current setting is 12oclock on the VOLUME, 2o'clock on the DECAY/RELEASE and 9o'clock on the SUSTAIN. This produces an excellent warmth and smooth compression that works for me. But anything cranked further on the SUSTAIN knob seems to take a toll on the pedal.

Currently using it through a Squier Pbass and a Sterling, same problem. Powering it through an 18v outlet.

Any explanations regarding this?

Thanks in advance!

If you want to crank up the Sustain knob, you'll need to compensate by turning down the Volume knob.
