barge RC2 or RC3 users - report!

So I'm in the market for a nice compressor I think, and Ive done some research (read almost all of bongo's reviews lol) and I think I want the RC3. I want a compressor to even out my volume, and suppress only the hardest of my finger-style p-bass with the tone control all the way open rock.

I like how low end doesnt drop off, the variable decay control, and how small the box is.

So is there anything I should know about this before I buy it? any other recommendations? I hope to get one either the week after xmas in in early february (my birthday)

Thanks guys
Dan

The Barge RC2/RC3 unit is probably an excellent unit (I haven't used one myself, but the Barge Concepts VFB that I had custom-made has excellent craftsmanship.) If I didn't already own a Demeter Compulator (purchased from Bongo ) I'd probably have an RC3.

Just an early warning though. Geoff and the Barge crew can get extremely inundated with orders (especially since it's the Christmas season!) and your order may take some time. But believe me, it's definitely worth the wait. I wouldn't trade my blend pedal for any other.

I'm not in a rush to get it, just wanting to pick one out so I can know how much its going to cost me...

hey Coolrunner have you checked out the OptoStomp? I was checking out the RC2 and RC3 and settled on the Optostomp because its obviously cheaper. Its really transparent and I only use it to help with my sometimes crazy finger volume. Granted its a bigger box, but it gets great reviews for the right applications (guitarists hate on it, but their view of compression is kind of skewed :-p )

I sold mine because it wasn't the kind of compression I like, but it worked very well.
