If you're looking for overdrive, I'd say neither. Bbm is a fuzz, and odb is a distortion

This ^^^.

Also, my little experience with a BBM and 15" speakers was not all that good. I really like the BBM and it sounded really good during when practicing on my own, but totally disappeared from the mix when playing with the band not matter how I set it. So out it went. I have no experience with the Boss pedal.

Another option, perhaps a litlle more budget-conscious: the Digitech BassDriver offers a lot of tweaking options that sound good with bass and has the advantage of a having blend knob. It also has a Boss ODB-3 setting. (http://www.digitech.com/en-US/products/bass-driver)

I would say neither as well. I've owned both and never really liked either of them. I guess they're decent if you're new to the pedal game and just looking to get your feet wet in a hands-on kind of way.

It's a tad pricey, but the EBS Multidrive rules. There's a few good youtube video demos out there to check out.

Bass big muff to be sounds like something good, but I do agree the dirt drops out in a mix. ODB doesn't sound good to me neither does it sit in a mix well. So it's BBM for me

+1 on the digitech bass driver. I own one and it sounds pretty cool. compared to the boss odb-3, the digitech bass driver is considered tamed because it's not as extremely heavy sounding as the boss odb-3, but it does have plenty of gain and it fits in the band mix better than the boss obd-3. it also sounds pretty cool with a chorus. I own a danelectro cool cat cc-1 chorus pedal and it sounded pretty cool with the digitech bass driver. it gives me a grungy but heavy sound. the digitech bass driver is definitely a decent bass distortion pedal to own if you play hard rock and heavy metal music.
