Bass Big Muff OMG

Sign in to disble this ad
This just came in today. I thought I would like it but instead I love it. Now I really want to build some kind of pedal board. It has revitalized my love of effects.

Bass boost up, tone 12 o'clock and sustain 3 o'clock... brutal and sinister! So thick and musical even coming through little combo amp.. can not wait to check in out on the big rig in the following week.

Now I just have to play around and figure out what q settings on my wah will compliment it the most.

If someone hasn't made it yet there needs to be a "show me your muff" thread... where we can show our muffs in all sorts of sexy poses and locations.

On a slightly related side note... Has anyone tried out rondo's pedal cases:

http://www.rondomusic.com/pdc410emsbk.html

I'd like to have an easy way to transport my pedals to my Guitarist's garage where my big rig is and be able to transport them back home to play with when not in jam mode.

What are some other good settings for this thing? Anyone else mix it with other effects?

Ive got it hooked with my Cheap Zoom B1 and did someday create a gnarly phaser ecco Reverb effect trhingy on it that on it's own sound good but with the Big muff just takes off like a MF from hell, its very doom or stoner rock'ish its sounds kinda like the guitar riff in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSZuL7XwNWA with the hizz of the muff on top of it and low end.

Try boosting into the BBM with a light overdrive or boost/EQ pedal (I use an Xotic Bass BB). Makes it sound like a Musket (but better IMHO)!

I've got the 310 (one size down from this). It works fine and doesn't seem like it'll fall apart anytime soon...

You should try the BBMPi. By far my favorite pedal. Separate wet & dry out = t3h b0mb.

I also love the BBM!!

I have a Digitech Bad monkey and a DOD Grunge going into it. Sounds awesome.

I usually keep it in dry mode (Tone 11ish, Sustain 2ish) or Bass boost mode (Tone 2ish, Sustain 2ish).

Back when i had it, the BBM and BassBalls sounded crayzay.

I use a Rondo pedal case, and it does the trick for the money. Very bare bones. The only thing I'd warn you about is that if you intend to rearrange your pedals on a regular basis, the velcro on the board is not adhered incredibly well, so it will come up. I'm planning on re-velcroing mine soon. Other than that, no problems to report.

I have owned one of the Rondo cases in the past. It worked decently well, but I was always afraid of the hinges on the bottom of the case breaking and the pedals taking a dive onto the floor. The main reason that I had this fear is because I had to re-bend the hinges every few uses due to the stress of the weight of the pedals put on them. Mind you I was using the largest pedalboard that they make at the time, which was a bit bigger than a bass case. If you're looking at the smaller boards, it's probably going to be fine, but the velcro lining isn't the strongest stuff and real velcro (the hook side) will have a little problem sticking to it until you scratch up the fibers a bit.

I use my BBM for an overdrive --> BBM for some massive distortion or fuzz --> envelope filter for crazy bootsy like fuzzy madness .
