yep. bass big muff is far more versatile. it sounds great at any numbr of settings, and can get the general vibe of the el grande in bass boost mode, if you are into that sort of thing. the el grande, conversely, can't do a fraction of what the BBM can do

Exactly. For a fuzz, it's REALLY versatile.

I also think that the BBM has more presence in a band setting.

I see both as about equal to each other. I just wanted to put in a vote for the MXR because I felt bad for it.

Underdog love FTW!

I have both and always use the BBM. As it has been said, it is very versatile. Dry Mode, 11:30/2:30/11:00-3:00 is my favorite. I only like sound of the MXR on low(7:00-9:00) fuzz settings.

1) BBM - Sounds great, flexible (for a muff)

2) El Grande - Pretty, sounds decent.. but no wow, knobs glow in the dark.

i think they both have their purpose. you can get a much harsher buzzsaw type fuzz out of the el grande than the bbm. as many have pointed out, the bbm has a lot more tonal range than the el grande, which is sort of a one trick pony imo.
