Hey all! I'm planning to buy overdrive pedal. I had Fulltone Bass-Drive previously, but I didn't use it much so I sold it, now I regret about it, it was good pedal, very natural sound to my taste unlike boss and digitech (boss users no offence, just my personal taste). I'm looking for something else of this kind. I know there is Hematoma, MXR Blow-torch and some other pedals. Basically I'm looking for something that will not cut low end too much and has classical sound. Just want to know what could be my options, in case if I overlooked some good pedals. Thanks.

The Fulltone is just nice! Retains the low end very well and have very good features as the boost channel! I have one and I won´t sell it anyway, maybe I´ll buy one more to keep as a backup!
I am looking for a second option to put on my board, and I´m very inclined to buy the XOTIC Bass BB Preamp!
The Blowtorch is more a fuzz or distortion I´m not sure if it works fine as overdrive!

I'm using the Marshall Guv'Nor. I have it in a loop in my blend pedal, but I'm pretty sure I could get away with having it directly in the signal. There isn't a lot of lowend loss. It's not a top notch recording, but the link in my sig has a recording of me using it. Listen to 'Wildside'. I use it on the intro and then again for the bridge and solo part.

There are a lot of good overdrives out there, and the best way to find them is to browse pedal retailers online. Do that, see what appeals to you, and then come back here and search the forums for more information on any of the pedals you saw and liked. If a search doesn't yield enough information on a pedal, then post a thread asking opinions.

But if you liked the Fulltone, why go with anything else? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I just started running my Fulltone at 18 volts instead of 9V, and it sounds great. It made a good pedal sound even better.

I didn't use it extensively but I used my guitarists Keeley modded DS-1 pedal with my all tube amp( very key to getting a nice OD nice IMO) and it sounded really mean.
