What exactly do these do to the bass sound and why would I want to add one to my signal chain? |

did you mean the Sansamp Bass Driver DI (the programmable, regular or Deluxe versions)
or the Digitech Bass Driver, or perhaps a Fulltone Bass Drive, or a Moolon Bass Drive?
the sansamp ones have the most features in terms of it being a DI box, a Preamp (capable of driving a poweramp), a Amp emulator (with Speaker simulation for recording/front of house), it also has blend, bass, treble, drive and presence controls.

the bass driver I use is a digitech bass driver. it may not be the best bass distortion pedal, but I dig it. it does have a metal sound for bass. |

Maybe someone could link a youtube w/some textbook bass driver tones for the OP..?
Edit: my current *bass driver* is a Mesa/Boogie D-180. SERIOUS drive, yo. UNH.

On-topic, though, I went through TONS of bass ODs before returning to the Homebrew Electronics Hematoma... pretty darn affordable, and very flexible with a wide gain range but not difficult to dial in precisely | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
