bass effects question...wah pedal

I just have a question about Wah Pedals. Can you use a wah for a bass? Does anyone on here use one? Just curious....thanks.
Sorry, I spelled pedal wrong in the title.

You've been on TB this long and you're asking that question without searching?

I'd highly suggest searching for the word "Wah" in this forum. When you're flooded by an incredible number of threads on it, you'll thank me later.

You can use ANY pedal on bass (wah, distortion, chorus, etc.). But the rule of thumb regarding wah pedals is that bass-specific wah pedals tend to work best (and exceptions DO exist, so don't think every guitar wah will suck on bass!).

BTW... ever heard of Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine)? Cliff Burton (Metallica)? Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)? They're just three of many bassists that use wah pedals.

Well I've heard of Flea. This question actually came up at work. I usually play classic country, Haggard, Jennings, Chris Hillman, etc. Not much need for a wah on that stuff...lol. Thanks though, I was just curious.

Ah... that explains everything.

Pardon my somewhat harsh post.

You should still be using the search function though. There are wolves in this forum that will eat you alive if you don't.

Out of curioisty, you say you spelt pedal wrong in the title...why didn't you change the title rather then write the sentence saying you got the title wrong?

When you "edit" I thought it only lets you edit the body of the thread. Maybe I'm missing out on something but that's how it works on this end. I may be wrong though, that's happened plenty in my day.
I shouldn't have even mentioned that I spelled it wrong now that I see how you spelled "curiosity" and "spelled".

Haha! I guess the joke is on me! In my defence I was tired and in a hurry (that's not cutting any ice is it?). As for 'spelt', I rarely see the word 'spelled' used around here, is it an American thing?

Hey, no problem, it's all in fun anyway. Take it easy.

Defence. To defend something. You are spelling it an odd and crazy way. Please keep it on that side of the atlantic.

[edit] Irony, I had to edit a typo :P What is happening to my spelling?!

There are lots of words that non-English people spell incorrectly.

e.g.

Defence -> Defense
Licence -> License
Analyse -> Analyze
colour -> color
metre -> meter
analogue -> analog
sulpher -> sulfer

It makes me sad...
