Hello everyone and to anyone who may want to give suggestions. I am new to this site and decided to joined 3 months ago because of such great information prior to me joining.
I currently use the EHX BAss Blogger for soloing with some delay or reverb as I create loop phrases. The Blogger seems to be a little tamed when it comes to overtones and harmonics.
<MY budget is about $100 bucks. I'm very aware Devi Ever, I spoke with her on phone(suprising!) she's cool... but her fuzz pedals seem to be over the top. anyone using the Biyang Baby Boom fuzz on bass. I'm also open to Devi Ever She used to make The "Bass Fuzz". anything out there similar to the Devi BAss Fuzz?. Your thoughts will be well taken.
Thanks... "play that funky bass everybody"...

EHX has more sustain and that out of control fuzz the Pickle is more articulate.
I own both because they're so different. Before boutique stuff I would try the benchmark pedals. The two I have mentioned certainly are. |

I was considering the Ruiner per Devi's suggestion but I'm not so sure. The Swollen pickle sounds interesting however, if someone can confirm that the Ruiner, Hyperion and such can be controlled so as not get just balls out loudness(nothing wrong with that) I may consider... much appreciated suggestions wanted...
Cheers,

Ive been thru dozens of fuzzes, the keepers include that one which gets used ALOT live.

I currently have a VT Deluxe for my overdrive, and have one of McSpunckle's gnomes on order... would the AB-Synth be different again?

Devi makes low gain pedals like the KP EB, Punch love and one other that she keeps changing the name of and I can't remember what the current name is at this time...
EHX Bass Muff or Way Huge Electronics Swollen pickle are both BIG MUFF PI variants this is a vast and wide subject. best to do some searching and much reading...
And.. the best place to start is Discofreq's effect database this is the master site to all things pedal! Look up a pedal and you can see every pedal related to it.
Fuzz is one of the oldest type of effects there is. It has been around since around 1960 or so so there has been a lot of evolution over time and in the last ten or so year it has really jumped so you really need to look around and see what it out there.
Also what "type" of fuzz tone do you really like? what I mean by this is are there any songs you really love the sound on as a jumping board like "I like this buzzy one here" or "I like this grindy one here but I want it crossed with the buzzy one" see. I have never tried to cop anyones tone but there are elements in songs I like that were pointers for the path I wanted to take.
That said I like all types of fuzz pedals. There are few I dislike do to me feeling that the maker could have done a better job without much trouble but they stopped short [cough BBM cough] of what could have been something great.
One "cheap pedal I really like that will do low gain grind and over the top is the Fuzzhugger Arc flash, it has a toggle to switch between to two. I losses a little lows in over the top mode if you have it dimed. Big muffs are also a good choice even the BBM, some people love the thing and for the price it is very usable, as I said it could have been great but still it will get the job done.

I listened to recordings and felt that Chris Wolstenholme's tone 'spoke' to me the best. So that's how I ended up with a Russian Big Muff - you can find 'em for under $100 if you look around... Best thing about it is I don't lose my lows and I can really adjust the whole spectrum of warm fuzziness...

Sincerely,
"basses ruled the world" | I loved my hyperion but took it off my board recently to replace with tentacle love super fuzz,... still working on getting that setup but reason being, I was using the hyperion with the boss LS2 to give me my clean signal with the hyperion on top... worked beatuifully, just for the sake of pedal space the tentacle love now does that sound with option of a different sounding fuzz and blend in one pedal,... means I can now use more pedals where as before I had the LS2 and hyperion taking up space...
if you want a little less then you can use the ls2 to turn down the fuzz and turn up more clean blend, loved the sound of it just real estate meant it had to go,... not to worry, very happy with my new setup!

Seriously. Had other Green variants, but I have one (not a clone) that is absolutely magical and I'd be beyond sad if I ever lost it (which I did once in Ireland, but I managed to track it down after almost a year).
Doesn't matter how many boutique fuzzes I try.
None have ever been able to kick it off my board.
Just my two cents.
