Bass FX for guitar?

Sign in to disble this ad
I play bass, guitar, bouzouki and mandolin.

i di my FX rack.

i'm contemplating the idea of an amp simulator.

maybe a Behringer V-amp (cheap & rack mounted)

so, I know the bass version sounds OK for bass, and the guitar version sounds ok for guitar, but has anyone tried crossing the boundaries?

like a fender bassman makes a great guitar amp, what about the moddlers?

is there anything that is cheap, rackmounted, and versatile?

In the same way that guitar effects will work on bass, bass effects will work on guitar. Whether it sounds good is up to you.

As for Behringer...I think you might find that there's very little difference between the guitar and bass version for effects. The amp models are very different, and the overdrives and distortions are probably better on the guitar version...so if you want to play your bass through a modelled Marshall Plexi or something, then go for the guitar version.

But, yeah...I think Behringer probably keeps their costs down by reusing much of the same technology, circuits, and programming...but just changing the face plate and calling it a BASS Vamp.

Bass and guitar effects are just the same barr bass ones keep that low end yes?

But i wouldn't even put a bass through a bass behringer effect never mind a guitar! You get what you pay for...

If there was something cheap, rackmounted, and versatile. Everyone would have one.

I bought a Korg AX1B (bass) processor because I liked one patch on it for bass...turned out I loved a lot of the patches on guitar. So I bought an AX1G (guitar) processor figuring I'd be even happier with it...nope, all crap.

My Bassballs and Bass Synth Wah have also migrated over to my guitar pedalboard.

The VT Bass sounds surprisingly good as an overdrive for my Strat.

My buddy likes to use my AX3000B with his Les Paul.
