Anyone ever tried to plug a bass in the Vocoder input of the MicroKorg ?

If so, i would like to know what kind of sound you were able to get.

Thanx

You'd just plug the bass into one of the line in connectors, adjust the input gain, select vocoder and goofe around.

This should allow you to use it as an effects processor, too. Only problem being you must use the keyboard simultaenously to get sounds out of it so it kind of wrecks the live usage >_<

I could be wrong, but I don't think that would work. If I understand correctly, vocoders work by manipulating the pitch of the voice, and do not allow any sound to pass through when the keyboard portion is not played. If I'm right about that, you would have to play a perfect unison line on the MicroKorg for it to work at all.

Yeah, I don't know about that particulat Korg, but when I had a Moog Little Phatty, it was *possible* to play a bass through it like you're suggesting, BUT, a dummy load had to be plugged into one of the CV outs, and there was a whole list of "set this to this", and so on. Enough trouble, that I never did try it. Look on the Korg, or Moog's site's, there might be some directions available.

I started messing with my MicroKorg and bass. Still so much to learn about what it can do but here is a taste.

Distortion and fuzz is pretty killer.
