Bass Micro Synth Owners, Does Yours Do This:

I don't know if I just never noticed it before, but a few days ago I found that the Rate slider on my BMS affects the tone of the filter - even when the Trig slider is all the way off.

I'm wondering if it's a sign of dying components or if anyone else's BMS does this. Could someone please try setting their Trig off, Stop Freq at around half-way and just moving the Rate slider around to see if it sounds different?

IIRC, it's the Stop Frequency slider that does all the coloring when your Trigger slider is at 0.

Well yeah, that's what's supposed to happen. I'm wondering if there's some sort of interference from the Rate slider, given that it's right next to it.

This is one of those times when I wish I still had mine.

It's times like these that I wish you still had yours.

It's weird. It's subtle, but definitely changing the tone - I can hear it if I move the slider while playing. I don't know if it's sweeping the filter subtly or affecting the resonance, it definitely sounds duller with the Rate slider lower though.

I've never noticed anything like this on mine. I've never had the trigger dropped to zero, though.

The BSM can be frustrating sometimes. I've had sessions when it's performed wonderfully, and then sessions where it did nothing but sound like the godzilla death march.

Yeah... Mine seems to sound nicer the longer it's switched on - it's a very odd bit of kit. Consequently I keep it switched on and bypass it when not in use.

This weird Rate slider business is bothering me now though.

I'll see if I can mess with mine when I get home. I have to adjust it anyway for my show on Saturday.
