Bass multi-effects and guitars

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I am a bass player and I use the Boss GT10b multi-effect board. I'm also starting to learn guitar and I don't necessarily want to spend heavy $$ on the guitar version of that unit.

My question: Can the bass effect board be used with a guitar? Any risk to the board or my amp if I do?

Thanks for your knowledge!

It has guitar amps right in there. And most of the effects can probably be tuned to work just fine with guitar (haven't tried beyond the guitar amps personally).

You can use a bass multi-effects processor with a guitar. you can use a digitech bp355 with guitar since it has some guitar amp models and a whole lot of guitar distortion effects. you can even use a bass cab model along with a patch that you can create for guitar. I've tried with my guitar and it sounded interesting. right now I have a zoom g2.1nu for my guitar and a zoom b2.1u for my bass. just to let you know, I'm mainly a bass player, but I also play guitar. particularly rhythm guitar. I record music with my band.

I did it for years with my Boss ME-50B, it's the amp that you want to be careful with.

iPad + Ampkit or Amplitube!! I like it better then the Line 6 bass pod pro.
And now Digitech came with a pedal where you place the iPad inside!
