Having a separate rig to do distortion and another rig to do the clean bass tone is the way the pros do it live and in the studio. You get much more control overall with the final result. No worrys about low end loss, you can keep the definition & punch of your clean signal, and set the distortion rig to compliment your overall tone.
I suggest the Tech 21XXL - it's not much of an overdrive, but it would do the tone you want. It's a cool tone you are going for! |
I play in a three piece band, with one guitarist, so that's pretty much the reason i wanted to experiment with that type of sound. It would be cool to bi-amp as well. Did you listen to the song i put on the other thread?

And what kind of settings for the Tech 21 xxl would you recommend? (If you can)
