Ok, Ive been looking all over the net on how to properly setup all of my gear and Ive seen all sorts of ways possible. I know this subject is beat to death but I want to fully understand how to do this. I know that its according to my taste, but I want to know if there is a general rule of lining these up. Here is what I have and here is how Im messing with it.
SansAmp Bass Driver DI (I use as a pre-amp)
Boss GT-6b effects processor
Mark Tremonti Power Wah Boost
Bass Big Muff Pi
Nady DKW-1 Wireless
Crate BX50 practice amp (no effects loop)
My setup is more or less like this...
AMP---bass DI---processor----dist----wah----wireless----BASS
Is this correct or is there a better way? Also, I plan on pretty much eliminating the processor eventually and get a compressor, tuner, and noise gate, maybe even an Eq later...so where do these fit into my equation? Any help would be great!

ANy help would be great! | I put my envelope filters after my Big Muff so I guess it applies to a wah too. Otherwise, if you are using modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser), delay or reverb of your GT-6B, you'd get a better result with it between the amp and the BDDI, but that's a guess. Since you seem to use the multieffect unit mostly for compression and noise gating, I suggest you simply remove it from your effect chain. The tube emulation of the BDDI does some sort of compression and while I have no experience with the particular wah you are using, your other pedals are pretty quiet, so a noisegate would become unnecessary if you simply unplug the GT-6B... |

| | | | Honestly I only mainly use the processor for the tuner, some of the compression, and for volume. That is why I got the wah and the Muff later because I didnt like the boss stuff on there. I plan on eliminating the processor and get my tuner, now I think of it...volume pedal too. So how would that work? Can anyone map it out for me with my current stuff and the later stuff I get? |

| | | | Here is something I pulled out of a Tech21 Owners manual:
-------------------------------------------------
PLACEMENT ORDER OF OTHER EFFECTS
One of the key attributes of any SansAmp is its responsiveness to the dynamics and nuances of
your playing technique. In most cases, your bass should be plugged directly into the SansAmp.We
suggest experimenting to find the order that’s best for you. As a general guide, we recommend:
Place the following effects BEFORE the SansAmp Bass Driver:
Wah-Wah, Pre-Amp, Compressor, Fuzz Box, Envelope Follower.
Place the following effects AFTER SansAmp Bass Driver:
Chorus, Delay, EQ, Pitch Shifter, Reverb.
NOTE: Low quality digital effects placed after the SansAmp may compromise your signal and
degrade the sound.
----------------------------------
This may help. |

| | | Effects setup Hey,
I've been using a few bass effects for a while now and only recently noticed that there is a certain level of "buzz" coming through the amp when I turn on certain pedals.
I'm using:
Ashdown EB 12-180 EVO II Combo mo
Tuner
Bass Overdrive
Compressor/Sustainer
Limiter/Enhancer
Distortion
I currently have them setup from the effects in/out on my amp in this order:
Amp (out) to - Bass overdrive -> distortion -> compressor/sustainer -> limiter enhancer -> tuner -> to amp (in)
Any ideas what layout I should change it to so I can get rid of the buzz?
Thanks |

| | | | I am currently using a vt bass to dynamic wah to bass chorus. Should I change my chain? |

| | | | I am getting a loop station soon, should that go last in my chain? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
