Question Bass Pedal-Effect Info. Needed, PLEASE

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I'm new to the group & a (Beginner) fellow Bassist. I wish to play music by "The Cure" and I've been using tabs that I've printed online.

I have read about the different effects pedals that are used by "The Cure's" bassist, Simon Gallup. I am not familiar with the different sounds/effects for each type of pedal (i.e., Chorus, Compressor, Distortion, Wah-Wah, etc...) and I'd like to know if there's just one pedal-effect that can give me a clear, simple sound for practice & playing in a band.

Please keep in mind that I'm just a beginner, and not too creative (yet) with playing. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

William

Head on over to the effects forum, where they'll suggest a "multi-effects" pedal. Something to get you initiated into the world of bass effects. Eventually though, you'll want to buy each effect as an individual stomp box, as they're much better at the one thing they do.

Ya, hardware setup and repair forum probably isn't the right place for an effect question.
