Its a toy collection that has been built up & refined over many years. These days my band only plays out about every 6 weeks, so I don't mind hauling some extra goodies (like keys, Taurus, lights, etc.) to gigs. I don't do this for the money - I do it because I enjoy it, so its a labor of love for me. I'm almost 50, and if I had to haul all my gear once a week, I would seriously consider downsizing my rig...

Go man, Go! You'll be building a modular before long! Hahaha | Yeah, but the roland pk5a, xv5080 and minitaur are all gonna be sold to help pay off the taurus 3.
Missed the Fed Ex truck, so picking it up today.

The T-3 is heavy as all hell, but so worth it for that killer sound & user-friendly, stage-ready control system.

So it's the old fashioned "save money" tactic here. It's SO HARD to do though! I was saving pennies to buy the Cygnus kit, and I kept running into deals on other stuff that "I just had to have". Consequently it took me about six weeks just to save up $70 bucks! Haahaa!
Big huge mondo giant mega thanks to twocargar for being patient with me on that! We just got our shipping notice on the Cygnus kit, so I'm doing a Mexican Hat Dance when Big Brown Truck rolls up with it in a day or so! Or USPS or whatever method it was that twocargar used to send out my Cygnus kit.
Then the fun begins!!!! To the batcave! ....
Igor .... engage the lightning rod power supply ... we've work to do! IGOR!! ~oh hell, he's asleep under the transformers with the cat again~ ..... IGOR! WAKE UP YOU IDIOT!
IGOR!!!!!!!!!!
Now, do as I told you and raise the lightning rods!!! NOOOOOO!!!! Not that switch!!!! Now, put out that fire and clean up this mess!
Damned hard to find reliable hunchbacks these days! Stand aside, I'll do it myself .... first must check outside conditions ...
Very well then .... now to set the regulators ....
One last small adjustment ....
Excellent! Now to boot up the musical assistant .... bringing it online now ...
Time to jam!!!!
All is well .... transmission complete. That is all.
Flux out.

So even though the Taurus III is reported to be heavy, it's GOTTA be lighter than all of that other crapola, que no? I mean he had ...
** Roland bass pedals.
** Roland rack thingage.
** Moog Minitaur
** Alesis kybd (or was it a Korg? No matter really).
** Plus a stand for the kybd, and any other junkola to support this list of stuffage (wall warts, PSUs, cords, power strips, and so on).
Replaced by the one single T-III.
Sounds like a Win+. |

I don't know what on earth I was thinking. I brought my 2nd rig there to have it ready for the Taurus pedals never thinking about when it got home first. It looks awesome though and the dust cover is nice!

Heavy little beastie, isn't it?
Get the road case if you can - it's one awkward monster to transport without it.
I played 2 or 3 gigs with mine when I first got them, using the shipping carton to haul them in, and the carton quickly started coming apart...

I'd be curious to try using the LPF like I use the LPF in my modular (as a midrange booster ... you run your bass through it, then you turn the resonance up to nearly ocsillating, then tune the filter's freq to the ~right~ freq until The Geddy comes out of it). So I guess that would require an "instrument input" .. do they have one of those?
It's not like I could ever afford one of those lovelies, I'm just curious about it. Oh oh oh !!!!! .. I know!! .. I'm gonna download the manual pdf if I can find one! What fun reading!!
Status: My own Cygnus kit is enroute, and I have bid on an auction for a set of Hammond M100 bass pedals at present (it ends on Saturday .. we'll see what happens!). Once the Cygnus kit and some 13 note organ pedals land here I can begin the project!
Good for you fellas that have picked up your Taurus IIIs! I'm sure you'll get great use out of them.
And btw NOLA Bass, sharp looking Spector! I have a Cort A4 that looks a little bit like it (one of the first A4s with the two piece bridge, solid maple winged "no danged maple top" body and "no danged passive EQ switch either" model).
blabla ...

And still waiting for an editor/librarian program from Moog - they seem to have forgotten about us T-3 owners ever since the Minitaur came out. The T-3 microsite only gets about one or two posts a month. At least I have the latest firmware up & running, with several of my programming suggestions kindly implemented by Amos at Moog.

No headphones, no instrument input. Bummer. But it seems to have CV inputs for pitch (1v per octave, which is hyper important), for filiter freq, and for the VCA. Pretty cooly! So it's patchable with other CV gear. That's great.
Hmm sounds like user supports is like Line 6 with the M-series units (I have an M9 and M13). They dropped us off at "the home" and left us there once they released the HD series gizmos. 'Tis capitalism. Follow that munay! |

Once the Cygnus kit and some 13 note organ pedals land here I can begin the project! | If you live in a relatively large metro area, you can often pick up pedals as part of an unloved organ (easy on the jokes, guys!) at a garage sale, for much cheaper than Ebay. It will also come with a couple of nice keyboards that work great for electronic projects, and sometimes there will be a rotating speaker that can be salvaged.
Craigslist is a good possiblity too: "Free organ, you move." (More possiblilities for jokes here, too.)
DO NOT tell the owner that you are going to cut up the organ for parts, or the organ will suddenly gain sentimental value.
