I don't take them out anymore, I use Roland PK-5A's with a Novation Super Basstation (for the Taurus sound, I can get really close), K Station and EMU Vintage Keys.

And the MOOG decal .. "All your bass are belong to us" .... that's just TOO hip.
I take it you have access to a metal brake? And perhaps a CNC plazma or laser? And perhaps a few woodworking machines?
Or is that all hacksaw and a file? If so, all I can say is that I no longer think I'm as good with the hacksaw/file skills as I thought I was!
I can see how you mounted the Deopfer, but how is the Minitaur attached? A shelf of sorts inside? Other?

Other than that it's mostly Dremel, hacksaw, files and careful measuring for metal parts and basic woodworking machines for wooden sides. There's a shelf under the Minitaur. You can see the rivets under Minitaur if you look closely.

Black mounting screws, textured coat of filler spray under satin black and careful filing and sanding before finishing. This was an easy one compared to the carbon fiber skin/wood core composite bass I made before this. Of course more than 20 years of making and teaching crafts has something to do with the result. |

Whether it's motorcycles or music gear, the people of the Nordic chunk of the world (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland) seem to have this sortof ~better~ imagination, unfettered by preconceived notions about what "must be". And they seem to have a DNA that includes this need to craft, and craft well.
Details indeed! Fine work, good sir. Functional, useful, and not overly ornate. All aspects that appeal to me greatly. |

I'm running them through the bass rig on the right (Mesa Walkabout head into 2 GK NEO 112 II's). The rig on the left is for my bass.

| | | | Hi!
I'm considering getting some bass pedals for playing bass lines whilst playing guitar, recorder, or even cello (although the last one is probably too difficult to combine with the pedals).
I know of the Roland, Hammond, StudioLogic and Moog products. Is the Moog the only one with a built in synth, i.e. which is not a pure MIDI controller? Not having to use a separate synth would be convenient. Or are there other products which do not require an external synth? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
