Guys, here comes my question:
I want assemble my first Bass-pedal sinthy kit.
I want to get some sounds like The Police, Rush, Yes.
I make any researches on internet and looks that I need:

A Bass Pedal midi controller and some kind of synth

Item 1 - Bass Pedal midi controller. Like:
Hammond XPK-100
Roland PK-5
Tokai PD-2

Item 2 – Some Kind of Synth.
Can be a keyboard ?
Can be a synth?
Can be a software?

What do you think is indicate for me?
Thanks in advance.

I don't delve into the midi end of things but I'm sure someone will be along to offer suggestions....

I've been using the Roland PK-5's and a Roland SH-32 synth for years now. The synth has many a knob/slider for creating patches, and is somewhat limited, but exactly what I was looking for. It's more of an old school type unit that is less plug and play than some of the other synths that may have hundreds of presets.

As far as the pedals go - I've dug the PK-5's all around, and they run on batteries if needed. I do a fair bit of switching mid song and the interface is fine once you are familiar with the commands.

You can hear and see a few shots of the SH-32 (0:44) in this video the drummer made while we taking a break from recording. We had been there a week so we're lookin' a bit rough
