Bass POD XT Live volume pedal issue (help?)

Sign in to disble this ad
So... I plugged in my BOD XT Live today at rehearsal and while I had a great sound coming through, the volume pedal has ceased to operate properly - that is to say, not at all. Now, I'm glad that it isn't stuck on "off," but I use a lot of volume swells in my band and... well, I can't any more. Has anyone else experienced this? I noticed that the wah doesn't work any more either. I can switch it over to wah mode, but when I rock the pedal nothing happens.

Help me, effects forum denizens, you're my only hope...

Sounds like the potentiometer controlling the volume and wah function is broken. If it were me I'd send it back to Line 6.

There is no potentiometer on line6 pedals... They are optical.

I would suggest that you recalibrate your pedal first. If that does not help, contact a service center.

You should really post this over on the Line6 forum.

There is a 1.06 firmware version that mentions pedal calibration. No idea if that would help.

Very cool - thank you. I looked through the user manual ("pilot's handbook") and couldn't find anything on (re)calibration.

I also posted on the Line6 forum in response to a guy who had the exact same problem, so... I guess that has me a little concerned.

FWIW, things like this are not covered by the manual...

I found this thread which explains the pedal calibration:

The link worked for me, here's the meat of it:

Quote:
-Power the POD XT Live off.
-Hold the Bank Up button while powering the unit on.
-Put the pedal in the full heal down position and press the Amp button.
-Sweep the pedal to the full toe down position until the pedal clicks.
-Press and Hold Save for about 5 seconds to save this setting.
-Power off the POD XT Live and power it back on.

I think he meant that the calibration didn't solve the problem.

Haha, yeah - I meant that the re-calibration didn't work. Thanks though (both of you ).

Next step is to send it to an authorized Line6 tech, huh?

Re-install the firmware and see if that helps...

If not, then yes, a service center is your best bet.
