Bass through a modular synth

Sign in to disble this ad
I've recently put together a modular synth and finally got a setup I can play my bass through. Here's a quick recording I made. Signal chain is Fender precision, synth, Walkabout, LDS 2x8, Edirol R-09. Starts with clean bass then some synthy fun.

Nice! Tell us about your modules and the patch you had set up there.

The bass signal goes into a doepfer a119. The audio outputs of the a119 go to the fm and sync inputs of a motm e350 synth module as well as to a makenoise qmmg filter. The one of the outputs of the e350 goes to a qmmg input and the other into a z2040 filter. The filters are modulated with envelopes generated by the a119 and a makenoise maths module. A lfo modulates the e350s wavetables. I'm looking forward to getting my moog mp201 into the mix for easier control of the system as well as for use as a midi-cv interface.

Sweet modules there, looking forward to hearing more clips.

I don't have any experience with other MIDI/CV converters to compare, but the MP-201 works great from best I can tell, no noticeable lag when controlling my moogerfooger rig with a MIDI keyboard... highly recommended, especially if it interfaces well with your gear; Im not too familiar with most modular stuff, but hear of high voltages and what not, and the MP201 only generating -5/+5v or 0/+5v. You're probably more on top of it than I, just throwing it out there fwiw.
