What are the real differences between these wahs other than the fact that the bootsy can do fuzz also? Which one do you guys favor?

The Bootzilla has a bigger sweep, but is much heavier, and more fragile.

They sound awesome, then they break.

Seems to be the consensus around here that the 'Zilla has the lifespan of li'l Johnny's first goldfish.

If you dont mind taking up space, get the Ibanez Weepind Demon. Cheap, and effective.

But its huuuuuge.

I'm just repeating what I've heard in terms of reliability (since the TB talk dissuaded me from buying one) but trying the Bootzilla out I can say that it really does sound good.

The 105q (the white Bass Crybaby that I assume you're talking about) is super funk and thick. But it is a bit of a tone sucker. I can vouch for the Weeping Demon being a solid choice too.

The wah I still want to try is the Wilson 12 position bass Q wah. All indications point to it being a good one.

That model is adjustable in its sweep to allow for different frequencies.

No, there's just one Weeping Demon. Some guitar wahs work okay for bass. Most don't. The Ibanez is very tweakable and can be set up to work well on bass. I dug mine while I had it.

Definatly a great sounding pedal, versatile as all get out, but again, so, so fragile..... its those damn' wires going up the the light up eyes thats the most trouble, they break, the wah stops working propperly, its what happened to mine, never worked propperly after I resoldered it.....

I'd love to try that one out too.

Or sometimes they break before they get the chance to sound awesome. I had one Snarling Dogs pedal that, when I went to plug the cable into the input jack, the jack fell away into the pedal.

I've had a total of three of the SD wah pedals and the longest lasting one was less than a month old when it fell apart.

Great pedals, ****y quality control and build.

Geez, and I thought I had it bad.

If SD got their act together, and made some working pedals.......

Same here, until it screwed up, the Bootzilla was the best sounding wah I've heard.

Is Snarling Dogs still owned by D'Andrea?

i had a bootzilla and a mold spore, neither of them even gave me troubl (but then again I was gentle) in a 6-12 month period.

You see broken Bootzilla everywhere, though. It's a shame because the fuzz sounds darn good, wah sounds real good too, both together: less good.

+1 on the fuzz sounding really good on the bootzilla.
I almost took it out to use it by itself, but it was to complicated.
Sold it to buy a bunch of Georges L's.

You'd think a company that can design such as stout casting and variable q IC board would:

1) know out to design a spring with a fatigue limit greater than 5K cycles
2) Have rubber feet that stay on longer than a month.

I'll prob buy another tho.
