bass wah and distiortion, help

Sign in to disble this ad
ok so basically i have an ibanez weeping demon wah and a bass big muff and im having a little trouble getting the sound i want out of it

when i use bass>wah>bbm>amp it sound like i am barely getting a wah sound on some notes or not enough wah

if i go bass>bbm>wah>amp it sounds way to synth-like and the wah overpowers the big muff by a long shot and it doesnt sound right

any tips or idea for getting a good cliff burton like sound?
thanks

I think your best bet is going distortion into wah and then manipulating the parameters of both (namely the wah) until you find the sound. It's going to be a lot of trial and error, though. Don't be afraid to boost the highs!

I have a similar setup and go bass>wah>distortion and it matches the lead metal sound. The trick is adjusting the parameters on the wah. I usually have it set to the high end range, and maximum level. The "LO" knob and the hidden range knob under the sweep are used to fine tune what frequencies you are affecting.
