bass wah mods

Sign in to disble this ad
I know i talked about this a while and someone had pmd me and said they could do it, but im wondering if they are still around

my plan is to buy a bass wah pedal off of ebay and have a tb'r mod it for bass, i mean i want some extreme wah here.

so if anyone knows of a tb'r who could do this please let me know.

thanks

im also assuming the 105q pedal would do the trick no?

depending on what your going for, it might be a good idea to check out a Wilson, the G-Labs bass wowee wah, or the Gig-Fx sub wah. After paying to get a 105q modded, it might not be much more expensive.

In my ultra-professional opinion...wahs are a pain in the arse!!! To just 'mod it for bass' means a lot of different things to different people. It might be best to either buy a bass wah with lots of adjustment options, or to have one modded for bass, with a lot of adjustment options...of course, the adjustment options can drive you mad, too, trying to find the sweet spot for you, but you have a little better chance of 'your' sound being in there.....

Honestly, it's not that hard to modify a wah pedal. If you look on craigslist you can usually grab a used crybaby for $30 or less. You can buy a TON of different resistors, capacitors, trimpots, switches, LED's, and an inductor or two for not much money at all, and then find info on the web and start messing with it...the worst you can do is destroy all or part of the wah figuring out what you like, and you can start over with another one for $30 or so if you do...you'll leard a lot about how the different components interact, and will hopefully end up with exactly what you've always wanted...

I've heard great things about the WD's. The only bad thing I remember is that some said they didn't like the tone in bypass mode. I've been wanting to try one myself...

I'd second blastjv's view. I traded through local CL for a cryababy, just the "original" gcb-95 wah. Messed with it and got ideas from internet searches on what to mod and how it will affect the sound.

Currently this wah is set be modded through capacitor exchamges, resistor exchanges, a new inductor, new potentiometer and will have a boost and fuzz circuit built into the wah shell as well.

If you're handy at all with a soldeing iron begin with google and search for "wah mods" and build your wah to your specs.

*drool* this may take the cake however, it has a mode for heavy fuzz or OD and thats pretty much what ill be playing through. The kiko looks good too.......

and im in no way trusting myself with a pedal and soldering iron lol
