I have no experience with phasers. I have never owned one. I don't wanna deter you from the bassballs if you already have your mind set on it but honestly I think its a very lack luster effect. It can make one really cool sound. And that is pretty much it. It's not versatile or practical if you ask me. I had one for a few months and ended up selling it. The DODFX25 is a killer choice if you find an old school one. The enigma q balls is a nasty pedal but it's not cheap and its fairly complex. Not to somebody who is use to effects like that I suppose but I found it to have too many knobs and options. I like effects to be kind of simpler. I nearly sh*t myself when I opened up my pitchfactor

From what I have read, Flea used a MuTron III with a dying battery on Sir Psycho Sexy. The dying battery is what gave it that signature tone.

The Q-Tron is an extremely versatile filter. With the gain and peak knobs, you can a go from a horny duck quack to a low peak, almost fixed wah sound. The Q-Tron is a great pedal. Its only downfall is its size.

There are 2 internal trim pots for tuning the filters in the Bass Balls, the mod essentially moved those internal controls to outside controls so you can make adjustments easier. The mod makes the pedal a lot more versatile and easier to get a more personal sound out of it.

that sounds like a cool idea, will prolly ck into it, and pull mine apart to see what it would take to mod min, may add an actual phase to the pedal array eventually.. much appreciated answer
