BassIQ Dead?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm currently having some problems with a BassIQ that I recently purchased.

I'm using a 9V DC power supply rated at 300mA. When I switch it on, the only thing I hear is noise, not just hum, but noise, and playing notes on my bass, I can hear a bit of a "Wah" sound through the noise, but the noise is significantly higher.

When using it in bypass mode (this is the non-true bypass version), it's okay, so I'm assuming that rules out patching problems. Any advices?

Is the polarity of the power supply correct (center-negative)? Have you tried powering it with a battery?

Don't have a battery with power, and yes the power supply is correct in polarity and I have tested with my other EBS pedals.

Thanks for the fast response!

I'd say buying a battery will be a good first step to see if the pedal works that way. Otherwise you may have to send it to EBS for repair, unless you know somebody who works on SMD components and is good with diagnostics.
