Basswah/volume?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I'm looking for a wahpedal to replace the one I'm using now. As I want some specific things from it, and I couldn't find anything after searching, I thought I'd post a new thread. (There. Covered my back ) A few things I want it to feature:

- It has to be a wah that, when you switch it off, acts like a volume pedal;
- Preferably a small footprint, as I'm trying to conserve space on my pedalboard. This one is not mandatory, though;
- A nice tone (obviously). I currently use a guitarwah that just sounds shite. This is my main reason for wanting another one. Also:
- must be powered by a DC connection. This may be a nonpoint, as most pedals are, but I mention it because the one I'm using now is AC powered. This is a pain, as I can't daisychain it or anything.

Does anyone know if this exists?

I do remember reading somewhere that a TB'er modded a guitarist-crybaby to have more bass response and act as a volume pedal when off. I just can't remember who it was, or I would've PM'd him/her. Anyone else maybe know how one would do this?

Thanks.

I don't know how you switch functions with them, but I believe the EBS WahOne and Stanley Clarke Signature wahs have both volume and wah functions.

But if you want the ultimate in ease in using both of those functions, why not get a bigger board with both a volume pedal and a wah pedal? That way you can put each in the chain exactly where you'd want it to be for certain, and it'd be much less of a compromise than looking for both functions in one pedal.

Ebay/google search "DOD FX-17". Does what you're looking for which the press of a button.

Really? I didn't know that of the EBS wah's. I'll have to look into them, thanks. Also, my board is now the maximum size to allow it to fit into my gigbag. This way I can get to rehearsal with my bass and effects strapped to my back. I'd like to keep it that way, that's why I'm looking for this pedal. However, if no other option remains, and I would have to get a seperate volume and wah, I'd happily get a seperate bag for my effects. Just exploring all my options to keep everything nice and compact.

Dunno. I've been wanting to get one for a while now but have never gotten around to it.

Ah, it seems that the wahone is unable to switch between wah and volume functions via the footswitch, but rather you have use a little button on the front. Which means bending over. Bah.

The Stanley Clarke wah has fixed this problem however. With this pedal you can choose the function of the footswitch: switch between wah and bypass, or wah and volume. This would be ideal for me. Now let's just hope they get released soon, don't cost an arm and a leg and the wah mode sounds okay for my purposes too.

I'm crossing my fingers. Thanks all!
